It's hard to know if this is a thing. I admit it's a little slap in the face when I do something nice for someone that isn't acknowledged. Especially considering how I am trying to teach my child to have an awareness of her environment. On the flip side, I completely agree with the author, that it's not my place as a stranger, to correct an adult for a minor infraction.
