20 Years!

I think it was the fall of 1994 when I first bowled in Travel League. That was the year I met Erin and Vicki, two girls with whom I'd form a long friendship. We passed around the same gift bag for our birthdays. Every year I gave it to Vicki, she'd give it to Erin, and Erin would give it to me. I think that ended when I went off to college (sorry Vicki).

We have shared many years of our lives together, though we've been geographically separated since 1998! And here this past weekend we shared another one.

Erin, her husband Steve and son Evan, stayed with us Friday night and hung out Saturday. Though Adina and Evan have met before, this is the first time they've truly had a good deal of time to hang out together.

It took Adina a few minutes to warm up to Evan, then she wanted to play with his toys and boss him around. They sat next to each other at dinner, then again at breakfast. She crawled into his bed so she could sit with him when Erin read a bedtime story.

Saturday, when they were sick of their strollers, they held hands as they walked around the zoo. Adina, by now, is practically an expert, so she pointed everything out, including the panda was sleeping.

Evan refused to follow all her instructions, and she handled it well enough. Our dear Adina is a quite the leader and demands things be done her way, so it's good for her to learn not everybody is so submissive.

It simply warmed my heart to see them play so well!
