Wedding Reception Tips

I think we did well with this list, and I didn't even see it!
  1. We had an organized dance, but improvised the middle and had a fun ending.
  2. Hired a babysitter
  3. We had only one toast, and though I don't know the length, it was funny, and our man was definitely prepared!
  4. Custom glassware counts, right :)
  5. We had a welcome happy hour the night before our wedding, which was a Thursday. On Saturday we invited out-of-towners to our house for pizza and playing in the back yard.
  6. We did well with seating arrangements, which were unique because we had an upstairs and downstairs. For example, one couple, who don't know a lot of our friends, according to Tony, "Make friends with everyone they meet, they can sit anywhere."
  7. I think we did well getting good food (and fun desserts!)
  8. Definitely had danceable music
  9. The day-of coordinator was the best "soft" money we spent.
  10. We had a few zones, inside there was dancing, or you could sit at any of the dining tables. Outside were standing tables and the bar.
  11. I was comfortable, and had backups just in case!
