High School Parties

I have a few years before I have to worry about Adina going out to drink on her own, but that doesn't mean I don't think about it. I personally believe our society is too conservative when it comes to drinking, and more specifically to exposing children to alcohol. Why does morality dictate you cannot have an occasional, responsible drink?

That being said, I don't think it's any person's right to offer alcohol to a minor without consent of that person's parent or guardian. Regardless of how I plan to raise Adina, I can't assume all parents agree with me and I definitely have to remember the novelty drinking carries for teenagers. There are several hypotheses this article brings up as to why parents host drinking parties for their teenagers, but the bottom line is, nobody can keep track of a party's worth of kids to insure every one is not over-indulging, not clumsy, and above all not driving.
